Saraphine Chapter 1 - Restarting

Saraphina Devoted~#53221.F  Restart....

Saraphina~
Brave,
Athletic,
Family- Oriented,
Hopeless Romantic,
with a touch of Neurotic.
Good traits for a founder of this Apocalypse Challenge.

...Back in Ice Station, Saraphina II started for her first time. Her DNA replicated, Saraphina was pulled from the Replicator to finish what Sarphina couldn't... we hope.

Her first stop was to get a job in the Medical profession. Her LTW and assigned function was World Renowned Surgeon. It was her main focus, her driving force right now.
Since the only place open this early in the day was the library, she went to read up on cooking. Just one little skill so she could cook her meals.
Time passed quickly while reading and before she knew it, the Consignment Store was open. She went to see if there were any cheap books for sale...
There were several books on her list which were there. Quickly grabbing them before anyone else came in, Sara went to the register and bought them all.

She then headed to the books store to buy the rest of the books on her list.
"Hi." she said to a Sim walking past.
The Sim kept walking past, lifting her nose in the air as she went. Sara looked puzzled, people here were supposed to work together.

Saraphina was headed home to fix her daily allotted sandwich when she noticed many of the Sims from the compound were gathering at the Park.
She started to run so she still had time to go to the Park too. She had such a desire to meet new Sims. And maybe play some chess.

Her domicile was almost done, one door and she would have a safe place to live.
She walked quickly to the fridge, while she felt safer at home she wanted to go to the park.

The only table available was with a young Sim, "Hello. Do you mind if I join you?" she asked him."No, whatever." he mumbled, still concentrating on his game. She only had a few hours before her curfew... time to learn to play.

She almost missed her curfew. While the rest of the Sims didn't, Saraphina was still restricted to her domicile from 5pm to 7am- accept for work.
They are more lenient on her first day...
That first Tuesday she earned a promotion~she was a Bed Pan cleaner. Not something she enjoyed but everyone said they had to start there... maybe they did.

Then life seemed to be full of dirty sinks, clogged toilets, and ...
...stale pieces of leftover sandwich. Those were the first days of her life in Ice Station.

And then the monotony was changed- a burglar crept on Sara's assigned land. Slowly sneaking up to her sleeping quarters.

With just the noise of a squeaky door, Saraphina jumped out bed. No fear or hesitation showed on her face, only calmness. She looked at the intruder...
"What do you want?" She asked.
"It doesn't matter, go back to bed and you won't get hurt."

That was all it took, Sara attacked. All she thought was, 'This is my home and the place where  my family, my children will grow up'... it was time to show the freelance burglars she wasn't an easy mark.

The fight was over in a moment. The burglar was slippery and seemed to wiggle right out of her grasp.
Which was good, Sara thought. What would she have done with her anyway? The cops were only here to protect the company, the rest were on their own.
Yet Sara felt a sense of winning and fell right back to sleep.

She ended up over sleeping and had to grabbed the rest of her sandwich while the carpool waited. She scarfed it down then ran, chewing the last bit.
She was still hungry but maybe she could grab something at work...

Raccoon- in the trash. =D

"May I ask, why won't you pick me up at my front lot?"
"...."
"Okay."

Finally, enough money for a chess table. She hardly has time to go to the park after work before curfew. Her only logic book was useless, now she can use the chess table... for fun too.

While her phone privileges were only on certain days, other Sims could call her any time.  It was nice to get a phone call...

Then it's time for sleep....
A nice Freakout in the Morning to relax the soul...

Off to work with a cloud of stink. It takes too long to worry about trying to get clean with only a sink.

If she's lucky to have scored some leftover lunch,... she would come home, make a sandwich, and then play chess.
Today she found a teddy bear at work. She was cleaning out the hazardous material and there it was, just a little worn... she sighed, "One day," she though while climbing into bed.

On her day off, Sara was walking to the park for a few rounds of chess when her young friend called her over. She thought he had family problems on his mind but he only talked about trivial things. "And, hey... you want to come over tomorrow and play chess? I have to study it some for school.""Sure, that sounds nice." She said, "I have to go now, see you tomorrow."

A co-worker was waiting, they enjoyed a close game. A group even gathered to watch...

Her curfew arrived and she rushed home. The talking and friendly sounds from the park made it hard to concentrate.

The voice of one child could be heard above the rests. A pang of longing tightened her heart, she went to bed early...

The last day of her first week seemed to have taken forever. She hoped time goes by faster. Her dream my be to be a surgeon but her heart wants a family. . . before she's too old.

Sara went to the Newbie domicile on her first Saturday, her day off, as soon as curfew was lifted.
"Ready to play some chess?"
"Yeah, sure." he said. "I hear you're really good."

His parents watched them. She felt a little weird with his mom standing over them. If only she'd sit down and chat with them.

With the park in the center of each housing center, everyone could hear what was going on at all times. It looked like a Corporate big wig was visiting the little people, some of the Corp monitors were out in inform. (I made the Paparazzi wear them) :)
We only talk to them if they ask a direct question though.

Saraphina left to fix her sandwich, when she heard Mrs. Newbie approach her.
"We're not happy about the Corporation picking our Son for you. We haven't told him yet either." she said.
"Wha..."
"We're hoping we can pull enough strings to get him a nice, young- normal girl to be assigned to. Do you hear... and don't tell him I said so." She said.

Her first week was over and now a family drama...
"What are you saying, Mom?"
"Nothing dear. Just girl stuff."  She said, "Bye, we have to go eat our dinner. Come along, Bob."

Saraphina munched on her sandwich and thought, "They must be wrong, he's just a kid."
